How this site makes money

The short version

Some links on this site are affiliate links. If you click one and then buy, the shop pays me a commission. You pay the same price as you would anyway. The commission never decides what I recommend.

Which links earn me money

Any "Check price" button, and any product link in a quick pick or comparison table, may be an affiliate link. Every page that has them says so near the top, before the first link.

What the commission does not change

Picks are chosen on how well a product fits the job: your space, your power supply and your budget.
If the best option for you has no affiliate link, I still recommend it.
No brand can pay to change a verdict, a ranking or a pick.
Every pick says how I judged it, so you can decide how much weight to give it.

How every pick is judged

Every pick is checked against the maker's specifications and current prices. The label tells you whether I have also tried it or seen it:

Tried in personI have used it myself, at a spa, gym, showroom or at home. If I own one, the label says so.

Seen in personI have looked at it up close, but not used it.

Specs and researchI haven't tried or seen it yet, so the pick is based on its specifications, price and the practical points in each guide.

Working with brands

I may work with brands in ways that leave my judgement my own, such as borrowing a product to try, or writing a paid article.

Anything a brand has paid for is labelled "Ad" at the very top of the page.
Any product given or lent to me is declared at the top of every page that mentions it.
Paid or not, what I write about a product is my own honest view.

Prices

Prices on this site are checked on the date shown and change often. The price on the shop's own site is the one that counts.

Tracking

When you click an affiliate link, the network or shop uses a cookie or similar tracking to record that you came from this site, so the sale can be credited. My privacy and cookie policy explains what is used and how to turn it off.
